OBJECTIVE
The On-Premise Spirits Category Director is responsible for leading portfolio execution and driving share growth for Lipman Brothers' spirits business within the on-premise channel. This role provides direct leadership to two Spirits Portfolio Managers and partners closely with Spirits Business Unit Directors to ensure supplier strategies are translated into effective, high-impact in-market programming. This leader plays a critical role in elevating brand visibility, expanding distribution, and driving volume through executional excellence across cocktail menus, backbars, wells, and key on‑premise accounts.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary objective is to grow Cocktails, Wells, and Backbar, share and distribution within all accounts. Work closely with Market Managers, sales reps, suppliers, and Business Unit Directors to ensure needs and goals are being met.Additional functional support to include:
Coordinating with BUDs on purchasing & pricing needs. Analysis, managing reserves Grand opening support, such as customer staff trainings Coordinate portfolio dinners Manage and track the success programs, goals, and incentives. Plan, manage, and coordinate new item launches and allocations. Plan and facilitate supplier work-withs, Happy Hours, and Dinners. Monitor and communicate competitive distributor and brand activity. Cultivate consistent communications feedback between needs of market and sales reps to the Spirits Director and Business Unit Director. Share and develop best practice, recognize great performance, identify opportunities and coach sales team to improve performance: Spirit Brand Sales Presentations Education of our portfolio Education of customer waitstaff and bar staff Leadership & Talent Development Lead, coach, and develop two Spirits Portfolio Managers, setting clear expectations and driving high performance. Provide ongoing field coaching, feedback, and performance management focused on execution quality, account impact, and career growth. Foster a collaborative, accountable, and execution‑driven culture throughout the On Premise Division. Category & Brand Execution Partner with Spirits Business Unit Directors to translate supplier brand strategies into effective on‑premise programming. Ensure consistent execution of brand‑building and volume‑driving initiatives, including: Cocktail menu placements Backbar and well placements Distribution expansion and visibility standards Drive share gains by aligning supplier priorities with Lipman Brothers' on‑premise strategy and sales execution. Supplier & Market Engagement Attend and actively participate in supplier meetings as required, representing the on‑premise point of view and execution realities. Support in‑market work‑withs with suppliers and internal teams, reinforcing priorities and execution standards. Participate in key market activities such as happy hours, dinners, events, and brand activations to strengthen supplier and account relationships. Cross-Functional Collaboration Serve as a key on‑premise category leader across sales, spirits leadership, and supplier partners. Collaborate and communicate with sales teams ensure delivery of strategy, execution, and measurable results in market. Market Share Growth & Execution Analytics Drive on‑premise market share growth by developing and executing targeted action plans based on insights from market execution surveys and in‑market performance data. Analyze execution gaps and opportunities identified through surveys to prioritize distribution, menu placement, backbar, and well initiatives. Partner with Spirits Business Unit Directors and Spirits Portfolio Managers to translate survey findings into clear, actionable programs that close execution gaps and accelerate brand share gains. Track progress against identified opportunities, adjusting plans as needed to ensure sustained improvement in execution quality and measurable share results.NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs all other duties as assignedQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Proven experience in the beverage alcohol industry, with strong on‑premise spirits expertise. Demonstrated success leading and developing people. Strong understanding of on‑premise execution drivers (menus, backbar, well, distribution). Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on, in‑market leadership. Excellent communication, influence, and relationship‑building skills. Willingness and ability to work evenings and attend on‑premise events as needed.Benefits:
