Overview:
Targeted Victory is looking for an experienced client services professional to join our team as a Director on the Business Development team. This individual will serve as a strategic partner across client accounts, agency teams, and leadership initiatives, helping drive collaboration, operational excellence, and exceptional client service. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong communication skills and the ability to manage complex projects and relationships in a fast-paced environment. Applicants must be able to work in person at our Arlington, VA office.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a central point of coordination across internal teams and agency partners to ensure alignment on shared client objectives and initiatives Lead recurring client and cross-functional meetings, providing clear communication, follow-up, and accountability across stakeholders Partner with senior leadership to support key client accounts, helping navigate challenges, identify opportunities, and drive strategic recommendations Build strong relationships with clients, external partners, and agency teams while maintaining a high standard of client service Identify opportunities to improve collaboration, communication, and overall client experience across teams Support the development and execution of strategic initiatives, events, presentations, and external engagements Oversee media planning efforts and coordinate with publishers, advertising partners, and vendors Maintain documentation, institutional knowledge, and historical records related to client relationships, partnerships, and ongoing initiatives Collaborate with internal product, operations, and leadership teams on special projects and business priorities Prepare executive-level presentations, briefs, reports, and other deliverables for internal and external stakeholders Help identify risks, opportunities, and evolving client needs to support long-term client growth and retention
Qualifications:
This position is for individuals who are strategic thinkers, relationship builders, and self-starters who thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Qualified candidates should have:
Bachelor's degree and 4-7+ years of experience in client services, communications, public affairs, marketing, consulting, or a related field Strong understanding of political, public affairs, or reputation management environments Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing presentations, briefs, reports, and executive-level materials Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders, projects, and priorities simultaneously Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, with the ability to build trust across teams and organizations Ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively navigate complex or sensitive situations Proven ability to identify challenges, develop solutions, and drive projects forward with minimal oversight Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues at all levels Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and project management capabilities Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Intellectual curiosity, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving
