Full Time Role Summary The Director of Pharmacy is responsible for leading all aspects of pharmacy operations, including clinical and administrative services. This role ensures regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and high-quality patient care while developing and supporting pharmacy staff. Key Responsibilities Oversee all hospital pharmacy services, including clinical pharmacy programs Lead, supervise, and develop pharmacy staff to achieve departmental goals Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development for team members Support workforce planning, engagement, cross-training, and succession planning Manage daily pharmacy operations through supervision of leadership and staff Review and improve departmental policies, procedures, and workflows to enhance efficiency and quality Perform staff pharmacist duties as needed Develop and implement departmental objectives aligned with regulatory standards (Joint Commission, Department of Health, Board of Pharmacy, etc.) Manage pharmacy budget, including operational and capital expenditures Participate in hospital committees and interdisciplinary initiatives Ensure compliance with controlled substance and prescriber documentation requirements Minimum Qualifications Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in the applicable state Minimum of 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience within the last 5 years Demonstrated ability to manage pharmacy operations within a healthcare organization Preferred Qualifications At least 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience preferred Strong background in hospital pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance Experience developing and implementing clinical pharmacy services This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced hospital pharmacist looking to oversee pharmacy operations, drive clinical excellence, and lead a multidisciplinary team in Newport News, Virginia.
