Job Description

Families On 30a (a family photography company based in Santa Rosa Beach) is seeking a freelance/contract photographer to add to our team! (pay ranges from $75 to $177 per session - depending on session length)
About Us:
Hey friend!

Lauren here with Families On 30a (a family photography business based in Santa Rosa Beach). Just wanted to thank you for deciding to check out this job posting! =) To give you a quick background… I started this business with my husband Colin when we moved to 30a at the beginning of 2026. Prior to moving to 30a, we lived in Texas (with a short stint in Oklahoma) where we operated a photography business since 2020 (serving entrepreneurs and business owners with updated headshots and branding photos). That business went from brand new (in 2020) to having served over 1,500+ customers in just a handful of years. It was an absolute blast and we're beyond grateful for that period of time. And then, we had some kiddos along the way! Thank you Lord. And we decided to enter into the family photography side of things. Fast forward a bit, we launched "Families On 30a", turned on some advertising, and before long, we (currently) found ourselves in a spot of needing some extra help serving clients! So… That's where this job posting comes into play! =) We're looking for a photographer to add to our team on a freelance/contract basis. To give you an overview, here's what we are needing help with: We're needing someone that is already shooting family sessions that would love to pick up a handful of extra sessions per week Specifically, someone that can shoot evening sessions (sunset family sessions) at blue mountain beach We're looking for someone that also feels like they are in alignment with our core values (those are in detail a bit down below) To give you an idea on more specifics of the role: This will be a 1099 contract engagement Our pay structure ranges from $75 to $177 per session (just depending on the length of the session, as our sessions can range from 15 minutes up to an hour) You don't have to worry about editing any of the photos, you just show up and shoot, and simply upload your photos to our dropbox when your session is completed You'll also receive 100% of tips from your sessions! (if a client decides to leave a tip) Okay… Now let's take a look at our core values. Honestly, a lot of the time, core values can just be something that is listed on a website, or put on a wall somewhere that no one really puts much attention into (which I totally get), but to be totally upfront and transparent with you, our core values REALLY mean a lot to us. And (as best we can), we really make an effort to operate according to them. And while we are looking for someone that is great with a camera, we are (equally, if not more) looking for someone that also totally aligns when it comes to the core values side of things. So… Let's take a look at those core values. Core Value #1: Honor Christ As followers of Jesus, we really strive to run our business in a way that we feel would honor the Lord. A scripture that comes to mind is Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV version) which says… "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." We really want to operate our business in such a way that would honor Jesus in everything we do. As if HE is the one that owns our business. Because honestly, we believe that He does. And that we are just stewards of what He has given us.
Please note:
We are not perfect. We will mess up. We will sometimes not get it right. But our focus is on running the business as best we can, in a way that would bring honor to the Lord. What does that mean specifically? It means that when we work with clients, we try to serve them in a way that would represent Christ well. Working to go above and beyond what we are expected to do. Again, not through perfection, but with the focus on trying to do the best we can at serving others. We try our best to also hire team members with the same focus. Of course, not every team member will be a follower of Christ, but we do ask our team to abide by the principles of scripture as best they can, and to operate in a way that would allow our clients to feel loved, appreciated and served at the highest level. Core Value #2: People > Profit When it comes to business, one of the main metrics that you optimize for is profit. Which makes sense. You need profit to be able to operate the business, to be able to grow the business, to be able to hire more team members, serve more clients, etc. But for us, while profit is very important, we believe that our focus on people has to take a higher priority. What does that look like? In one instance, it looks like making sure that we only get paid when our clients are
INCREDIBLY
happy with the outcome of their session, and with the outcome of their photos. We don't want to be fully paid unless our clients are completely happy. So that means that we are willing to completely re-do a session (at no cost), or even completely refund the session with no questions asked, if our clients are not completely happy with the outcome.•And by the way, you (as the photographer) will always get paid in these situations - so no need to worry about that •We prioritize our clients happiness and satisfaction over profit. It also looks like how we work with (and pay) our team members. We want our team members to feel extremely valued in our organization, so we will always do the best we can to provide them with the most competitive pay we can, while still being able to profitably run our company. We will never try to "squeeze the juice" out of our team members, paying them the lowest rate we can, trying to "maximize" our profit margins. We will always try to find the most competitive (and above competitive) pay that we can pay them, working to train them and serve them to the best of our ability, and continuously look for ways to help them grow as individuals and team members. Trying to think from their point of view. And not exclusively from our "profit margin" point of view. We want our clients to be incredibly happy, and we want our amazing team members to be incredibly happy. And that's what the "People > Profit" core value is all about. Core Value #3: White Glove Service We want all of our clients (and their family members) to feel like they are experiencing a total "VIP" treatment when working with us. Because truthfully, they are our VIP's. We are so incredibly grateful anytime someone decides to become a client with us, and we want to treat them in a way that makes them feel like the VIP they are. And we do that by working to implement what we would call a "White Glove Service". Holding their hand through the entire process. Making the next steps of the process seamless, clear and hassle free. For most of our clients, getting a family session done is not something they do all of the time, so we want to make the process really amazing and stress free for them.

Walking them through the process hand in hand. We just want our clients (and their family members) to show up to their session feeling their best, and we want to take care of the rest. Helping everyone to pose. Helping kiddos laugh and stay engaged.

Helping mama to adjust her hair if the wind decided it wanted to switch things up on her ;)Helping Dad to feel natural and relaxed during the session.

Occasionally showing (usually mama for the most part) the back of our camera, so she can see how everyone looks throughout the session. Working to make everyone feel totally comfortable and natural throughout the process. (as best we can!) Our goal is to make the entire process feel like a truly "White Glove Service". And that's what this core value is all about. Core Value #4: "Wow" Experience On top of creating a "White Glove Service" experience, we also want our clients (and their family members) to leave their sessions with what we would call a "WOW" experience. We want to go "above and beyond" simply providing a photography session. We want our clients to feel TOTALLY cherished and taken care of. We want them to feel like they got more than just a photography session. We want our clients (when they are by themselves after the session) to think (and even say to themselves)... "WOW. That was seriously such an incredible experience. We really should have done this a LONG time ago, and honestly, we need to do this more often. I was expecting to get photos taken, but the whole process just felt so much more than that. That was amazing". And that is what this last core value is all about. Providing a "WOW" experience. So… If all of this resonates with you, and if you'd like to submit a quick application for this family photographer role with our company, we'd love to hear from you! Thanks so much friend! -
