The University of South Florida (USF), a member of the American Athletic Conference, is currently accepting applications for the position of Senior Photographer. The position will be housed in the athletics external services department, reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Creative & Brand Strategy. The selected candidate will work in a highly collaborative environment to deliver creative photo assets for assigned sport teams, events and departmental needs. Position will oversee a pool of interns that they help cultivate to advance and maintain brand identity through original and creative content. Candidate will work in a highly collaborative environment to advance the brand of USF Athletics and the university. Reporting to the Assistant VP / Creative & Brand Strategy, the Sr. Photographer will plan, shoot, edit and tag all photography for the University's Athletic Department to support the success of the University's various NCAA Division 1 intercollegiate teams. This position involves leading a team of student interns, coordinating photo shoots, editing photos captured to create engaging content for various platforms such as social media, websites and archival processes. The position works closely with coaches, athletes, and other staff members throughout the athletic department to ensure that the photo content aligns with the department's branding and marketing goals. Additionally, the role will provide oversight of the internship program, inclusive of recruitment and training, while assisting with the organization of current equipment & plan for future equipment needs, and staying up to date with industry trends and best practices in photography. May be required to work non-traditional work hours in the evenings and/or weekends, inclusive of travel, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in telecommunications, communications, marketing, public relations, digital media or related field, with one to three years of experience in related positions. Strong familiarity with photography (action and studio) and photo editing, specifically the Adobe Creative Suite. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects effectively with tight deadlines. Previous experience working with photography, photo equipment & editing software.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and two years' experience working in college athletics or professional sports. Strong working knowledge and demonstrated experience with photography. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of Adobe and photo best practice software.
Degree Equivalency Clause:
Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.

Shoot and edit engaging photo content for assigned games, events, recruits and departmental needs, adhering to brand guidelines to enhance the South Florida Athletics brand based upon institutional knowledge and/or industry standard knowledge. Work collaboratively with the Creative Project Manager on ensuring coverage for games and departmental needs, inclusive of freelance recommendations or scheduling while managing a budget for such requests. Lead and collaborate with other content creators, team personnel, communications & social media staff to create and produce photo content concepts. Recruit, train and lead intern staff around photography best practices including photo metadata tagging, studio and action photography Plan, organize and execute yearly photo shoots specifically for marketing, promotion, broadcast, and in-stadium purposes, as needed, customizing for target audience and platform. Assist with tagging and metadata on images for organizational archival efforts. Special projects and assignments as business dictates. Performance of other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned or requested by your supervising administrator, department head or senior administrators.
