Job Description

Typesetter We are hiring a skilled and experienced Typesetter to join our publishing team in Atlanta. As a Typesetter, you will be responsible for setting, arranging, and composing text and images for various print and digital publications. Your attention to detail, precision, and creativity will play a crucial role in producing high-quality publications that engage readers.
Responsibilities:
  • Set and arrange text and images according to design specifications using typesetting software
  • Check for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors
  • Ensure consistency in font styles, sizes, and line spacing throughout the publication
  • Collaborate with editors and graphic designers to ensure the layout meets the publication's standards
  • Make necessary adjustments to text and images to fit designated spaces or pages
  • Create digital proofs for review by editors and make necessary revisions based on feedback
  • Meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality control
Requirements:
  • Proven work experience as a Typesetter or similar role
  • Excellent knowledge of typesetting software such as Adobe InDesign or QuarkXPress
  • Strong eye for detail and ability to spot errors quickly
  • Familiarity with typography principles and design elements
  • Experience working with complex layouts for various types of publications (books, magazines, newspapers)
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy
  • Good communication skills to collaborate with team members from different departments Preferred qualifications (not required):
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field
  • Experience with digital publishing platforms such as
Kindle Direct Publishing or IngramSpark Salary:
$1400/month (negotiable based on experience)
Location:
Atlanta (remote work not available)
Preference:
Malayalee candidates preferred
