Freelance Photographer Fitness, Programs & Events

About Us JCC Rockland is a nonprofit, community-centered organization offering fitness, wellness, cultural, and family programming for all ages. Our mission is rooted in building connection, belonging, and well-being—and we're looking for a photographer who can help bring that to life visually. Position Overview We are seeking a reliable, creative freelance photographer to work with us on an ongoing, as-needed basis. This role will focus on capturing dynamic fitness content, engaging program moments, and special events throughout the year. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for storytelling, experience shooting active environments, and the ability to deliver polished, on-brand imagery. What You'll Do Photograph fitness classes, personal training, and wellness spaces (action + lifestyle shots) Capture community programs including youth, family, and adult offerings Shoot special events (evenings and occasional weekends required) Deliver a mix of candid, posed, and environmental photography Edit and deliver high-quality, web- and social-ready images in a timely manner Collaborate with the marketing team on shot lists and brand direction What We're Looking For Experience in event, lifestyle, or fitness photography Ability to capture movement, energy, and authentic moments Strong editing skills (Lightroom or similar) Professional, friendly, and comfortable working in a community setting with all ages Reliable and responsive with flexible availability (including evenings/weekends) Own equipment (camera, lenses, etc.) Nice to Have Experience shooting in gym/fitness environments Basic video capabilities for social content Details $30-$40/hour (nonprofit rate) Flexible, as-needed schedule Opportunity for ongoing work throughout the year To Apply Please send: Portfolio (fitness, lifestyle, or event work preferred) Brief intro and relevant experience Availability Please email your materials to rebeccas@jccrockland.org.
