We are a large, premier retina specialty group that has grown significantly and is hiring to support clinic coverage, patient volume, and long-term growth. We are seeking a team-oriented Ophthalmic Photographer to join our team. This role provides a unique opportunity to provide highly specialized diagnostic imaging while being supported by a robust clinical infrastructure. Location This position supports our high-volume clinics in Tennessee (with primary hiring focuses in Nashville, Franklin, and Cookeville ). Because we operate multiple regional clinics to serve our patient base, this role requires travel to different clinic locations up to 1-2 days per week depending on staffing and patient needs. We prioritize candidates living within approximately a 25-mile radius of their primary clinic. What You'll Be Working On Performing highly specialized diagnostic imaging and vision assessments in a fast-paced clinical environment. Utilizing state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to deliver expert outcomes, including OCT, Optos, fundus photography, fluorescein angiography, visual fields, and B-scans . Assisting with hands-on clinical patient care, patient prep, and detailed clinical documentation. Supporting clinical workflows for our retina specialists and working alongside ophthalmologists and an experienced tech team. Traveling to local clinic branches (1-2 days per week) to ensure seamless regional patient care. Contributing to a practice culture that values flexibility, dependability, and a patient-first mindset.
Qualifications Experience Tiers Welcome:
We are open to three tiers of candidates —ranging from entry-level/trainable individuals to extensively experienced, certified professionals. Tier 1 (Entry-Level): Trainable candidates with a strong background in customer service, phlebotomy, or broader patient-facing healthcare who possess a strong willingness to learn. Tier 2 (Intermediate): Experienced ophthalmic/optical assistants looking to specialize directly in retina imaging. Tier 3 (Certified/Advanced): Fully experienced Ophthalmic Photographers with active certifications (e.g., CRA, COA, COT, COMT ). Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to thrive and remain flexible in a high-volume, dynamic clinical setting. Genuinely comfortable with regional day travel requirements (1-2 days per week). Availability to work standard day shifts ( Monday through Friday , typically starting around 7:00-7:30 AM) and open to occasional quarterly Saturday clinics.

Tiered hourly pay scale from $21.00 - $30.00 per hour , precisely calibrated to your experience level and certification status.
Sign-On Bonus:
$2,000 sign-on bonus paid after 6 months of continuous employment.

Premium Saturday Pay:
Additional premium compensation is available for participating in quarterly Saturday clinics.
Travel Compensation:
Mileage reimbursement is provided for travel over 15 miles/15 minutes from your main clinic.
