Job Description Our contemporary preschool photography company is seeking a part-time contract photographer to join our creative team in the Dallas area. The ideal candidate will have exceptional skills working with children - especially preschoolers and babies - and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This role involves shadowing and assisting the lead photographer during 1-2 photo days per school while working directly alongside our photography team. It's a great opportunity for someone eager to gain hands-on experience, learn industry-specific techniques, and work flexible weekday mornings. Typical work hours are approximately 6:00 AM-1:00 PM on scheduled weekdays at preschool locations throughout the Dallas area. Photo days are scheduled in the summer with block out dates for unavailability. Strong performers may be invited back for future seasons, including the Spring 2027 season . Duties Participate in required training prior to photo days. Assist the lead photographer during photoshoots, including setting up and tearing down lighting and equipment, organizing data, and maintaining a steady workflow. Travel to approximately 10 preschool locations across the Dallas area, including Frisco, Plano, and North Dallas. Reliable personal transportation is required. Photograph children ages 6 weeks-6 years at a designated photo station. Guide them through our seasonal prompts to capture genuine expressions. Work efficiently while maintaining quality and consistency, photographing each child in approximately one minute while following the roster and workflow system for 4-5 hours. Manage, clean, and organize photography gear and props. Help maintain a fun, organized, and professional studio environment No editing required - image processing and delivery are handled by our team. Skills Exceptional skills working with children are a must . A warm, energetic, and patient personality. Comfortable being silly, animated, and engaging in order to capture authentic expressions from young children. Confident, energetic, and motivated to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment. Photo days require consistent energy, focus, and active participation throughout the shift. Able to adapt quickly and think creatively when working with different personalities and age groups. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Quick problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills within a team environment. Ability to bend, lift, stoop, pull, and get on the floor as needed during sessions. Proficiency with Canon mirrorless systems preferred. Basic understanding of photography principles including exposure, composition, and lighting. Understanding of color theory and white balance to troubleshoot lighting and exposure issues. (Lead photographer will be on-site for support and guidance.) Comfortable answering simple questions from preschool staff using company guidance and procedures.

Flexible schedule Application Question(s): This is a seasonal contract position, not a full-time or year-round role. Work is primarily during the Fall (September-October) and Spring (March-April) preschool photography seasons. Team members averaged approximately 65 hours during the last spring season.
