Job Summary:
Walt Disney Animation Studios combines artistry and storytelling with cutting-edge technology to bring wonderful new characters to the big screen for audiences around the world. We are currently seeking a Casting Associate to join our Burbank, CA team and help find the talent that brings these characters to life through voice performance and acting. The Casting team at Walt Disney Animation Studios is responsible for casting production dialogue and reference (temporary) dialogue. The Casting Associate is responsible for assisting the Casting Director in finding voice talent for all stages of a production (from development to production).
Responsibilities:
Production Casting:
Meet with the Director/s, Producer/s, and Casting Directors to brainstorm and present actor ideas for all main and secondary characters Source audio clips for Director and Producer review Work with talent representation to find and audition potential actors Evaluate submissions from talent agencies Maintain relationships with local and national talent agents and local theater programs Attend talent scouting events such as theater performances, showcases, comedy shows, concerts, etc. Reference Dialogue (temporary voice)
Casting:
Assess project needs with the Director/s and Producer/s Brainstorm and present actor ideas to the Director/s and Producer/s Run auditions for internal and external candidates Oversee booking and scheduling for external candidates
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of professional experience, including 2+ years of experience in casting Strong people skills, including the ability to work exceptionally well with Executives and Filmmakers Experience in scheduling auditions Strong planning and organization skills Effective communicator, both verbally and written; including crafting email communication Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $65,600.00 to $84,800.00 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
