Producer (Commercial Photo & Video) - Contractor (1099) ???? San Pedro, CA ?? 20-25 hrs/week | Project-based schedule ???? Sports Research - Creative Media $80 - 110/ hr DOE About the Role Sports Research is seeking an experienced Producer (Commercial Photo & Video) to lead end-to-end production of commercial photo and video shoots. This role owns production from pre-production through final wrap, ensuring smooth execution, strong creative alignment, and efficient delivery across all projects. You will act as the primary production lead, partnering closely with the Senior Creative Operations Manager and Senior Creative Media Director to execute high-quality lifestyle and fitness content. This is a highly autonomous role requiring strong leadership, decision-making, and the ability to manage productions in real time. What You'll Do ???? Production Leadership Lead full production lifecycle from pre-production through shoot and wrap Build production timelines, milestones, and shoot schedules Ensure shoots are executed on time, on budget, and aligned with creative direction Oversee all on-set operations and maintain production flow ???? Budgeting & Oversight Build and manage production budgets based on scope Track spend and maintain cost control across all phases Handle reconciliation and final budget closeout ???? Crew & Vendor Management Source, hire, and manage freelance crew and vendors Negotiate rates, issue deal memos, and manage agreements Maintain and grow a reliable production network ???? Logistics & Coordination Scout locations and manage permits and insurance requirements Coordinate equipment rentals and production logistics Ensure all production elements are secured prior to shoot day ? On-Set Execution & Problem Solving Lead on-set production and maintain crew alignment and efficiency Troubleshoot issues in real time (talent, timing, logistics, resources) Adapt quickly while protecting creative quality and deadlines ???? Wrap & Delivery Oversee production wrap and asset handoff Ensure all deliverables and documentation are completed Manage vendor closeout and production records What We're Looking For 5+ years of experience producing commercial photo/video shoots Strong experience managing budgets and production timelines Deep knowledge of the Los Angeles production landscape Proven ability to lead shoots from kickoff through wrap independently Experience hiring crew and managing vendor relationships Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to thrive in fast-paced, production-heavy environments Nice to Have Experience producing for fitness, wellness, or consumer brands Strong network of LA-based crew and vendors Familiarity with fitness movement and performance capture Highly resourceful, solution-oriented production mindset Work Environment This is a production-focused contractor role combining pre-production planning, on-set leadership, and coordination across internal and external teams. Schedule is variable based on shoot needs.
