Job Description

Job Summary The Production Manager is responsible for the management and coordination of a plant's manufacturing operations or multiple department operations consistent with cost, profit and productivity objectives. Develops production schedules for area of responsibility, coordinates activity with other areas and forecasts inventory requirements. Principle Duties and Responsibilities Formulates long‑ and short‑range business plans and goals Ensures all plant assets in area of responsibility are properly managed and safeguarded Staffs assigned operations to meet production levels consistent with cost objectives Ensures employees are properly trained, including cross‑training within assembly operations for flexibility across standard and complex product lines Supervises activities directly or through supervisors and lead operators Coaches and develops subordinates, evaluates performance, and initiates corrective action as required Ensures performance reviews are conducted in accordance with company policy Responsible for assembly operations, including standard assembled products and complex and multi‑material builds Responsible for coordinating and executing proper sequencing of components, subassemblies, and final assembly Responsible for ensuring standardized build instructions, quality checkpoints, and repeatable processes for complex products Supports first article builds, new product introduction, and process stabilization for new or modified products Works closely with sales, design, and engineering teams to ensure accurate execution of product specifications Improves assembly workflow, material flow, and staging to support repeatability and efficiency in high‑mix production environments Supports the development and execution of engineered packaging solutions while maintaining performance in core production operations Supports cross-training within assembly operations to improve flexibility across both standard and complex product lines Establishes work‑center operation efficiency standards Monitors performance to established efficiency and quality standards and initiates corrective action as required Analyzes production operations and workflow and develops improvement recommendations Monitors output, cut yields, and scrap to ensure efficient resource utilization and initiates corrective action as required Ensures yard conditions and housekeeping conform to company standards Manages inventory in area of responsibility, ensures inventory is rotated per policy, and participates in month‑end inventory Ensures machinery in area of operation is properly maintained Orders supplies, initiates purchase orders, and approves timecards and incentives Manages finished goods packaging as required Prepares various reports and logs as required Participates in the Safety Committee process and ensures operations comply with company and OSHA policies, practices, and procedures Ensures operations comply with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, and with company policy and procedure Qualifications Preferred bachelor's degree in relating discipline or equivalent Minimum of two years of experience as production supervisor or equivalent Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook. Preferred experience and knowledge on UFP's organization, culture, and product lines
Compensation & Benefit Information:
Salary Pay Range:
$77,000 - $83,000 a year dependent on experience•pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of living

Annual performance bonus opportunity based on Company and specific business unit ROI and PBOP achievement criteria and individual job responsibility and performance.
