Job Description
The Washington Times is seeking an experienced Video Producer to create exceptional live and on-demand digital news content for our website, social media platforms, TV broadcasts and other endeavors. We are looking for ways to increase and expand reader engagement through creative and compelling videos on our channels.
The video producer will be responsible for all phases of video production, with an initial emphasis on post-production. The successful candidate will have significant experience with Adobe Suite, operating professional camera and audio equipment, adapting to changing production environments, and working within a digital content workflow. In addition to shooting and editing video, we need someone with experience writing scripts and selecting accompanying graphics & B-roll to complete video packages. The job requires a combination of sharp news judgment and advanced video storytelling techniques. Animation experience is a plus. Ideally, the successful candidate will have a bachelors degree in video production, film, broadcasting or a related field and a minimum of three years working in news broadcast or live event production. We will consider candidates who do not necessarily have all these qualifications but have sufficient experience, talent, a readiness to learn, and a passion for precise visual storytelling. Experience in a newsroom environment is preferred. Strong and transparent communication is a must.
The Washington Times offers a competitive salary that includes medical, dental, vision and company-paid life insurance, as well as a generous paid time off program, matching 401(k) plan, and free on-site parking. Apply online TODAY!
