Position Summary The department manager position is responsible for supervising shop Supervisors and Employees in a manufacturing/assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, working conditions-Safety and Monitors KPI's set to achieve the company goals. Primary Duties:

Assures specific quality guidelines are met and, if necessary, takes appropriate actions and measures to rectify quality issues. 2. Follows established safety rules and regulations. Ensures effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development. Makes employment decisions and resolves employee issues through problem resolution. Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas. Collects, evaluates, analyzes, and assesses production data, provides corrective actions to areas not meeting company objectives. Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager. Manages PTO for direct reports and monitors time keeping accuracy for hourly employees; focus on Over Time, Points, Missed Punch History as examples. Manages Quality Discrepancy Report (QDRs) for department(s). Assures that all production KPI's are met throughout the department (e.g. Cost of Quality, OEE, etc.) Manages department priorities to achieve on time deliveries to customers, both internal and external. 12. Follows all guidelines set forth in our 5s training, including GEMBA walks with supervisors. 13. Other duties and responsibilities can be assigned based on company needs and skills level. Supervisory Responsibility This position has the overall responsibility over the department. Responsibility includes performance management, hiring, and promotion decisions. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to walk and stop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position operates in increased working temperature. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full time position. Regular schedule for this position is Monday through Friday. As production demands requires it, this role will be required to work over the base regular hours including weekend. Travel Some travel is expected for the position. Overall travel is expected to be no more than 20%. Required Education and Experience 1. Bachelor's degree in business, recommended or applicable experience. 2. At least five years of full-time experience leading a diverse group of manufacturing functions for a medium size organization. 3. Previous experience in leadership roles related to Production Operations 4. ERP / SAP
experience 5. Microsoft Office Suite experience to include Excel, Word, Power Point, etc. Preferred Education and Experience 1. At least 5 years of leadership experience 2. Tier 1 automotive experience Additional Eligibility Qualifications 1. Knowledge of principles and practices of modern management and administration; project management; and personnel management. 2. Skill in planning, organizing, directing and coordinating a wide variety of activities; developing implementing and communicating policies and procedures for a large organization; analyzing data, making sound recommendations and adopting effective causes of action; working persuasively and tactfully with supervisors and line staff; communicating effectively both in oral and written form.
