This position is responsible for managing, directing, training , safety, and scheduling of production associates and activities within the production area. This is a 1st shift position working Monday through Friday 6:00am-2:30pm; salary is $80,000-$85.000/year, depending on experience and interview.
Position Summary:
Performs a variety of inspection checks to parts and textiles using standardized inspection criteria. Participates in the implementation of departmental goals and objectives, while supporting the mission of Moriden America.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of daily production schedules and allocation of personnel. This position will communicate staffing needs and requirements.
  • Responsible for job specific training for all production personnel.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of short and long range departmental goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for daily production metrics, objectives, and the regular reporting of results.
  • Responsible for proper associate training and the implementation of processes that ensure quality and on-time delivery to the customer.
  • Responsible for the daily reinforcement of a culture of continuous improvement, and execution of projects designed to reduce process variability, improve quality, and reduce waste and unnecessary product costs.
  • This position will work with the quality department to understand, communicate and record quality requirements and measurements.
  • Responsible for leading and maintaining a safe working environment, insuring full compliance with local, state and federal (EPA and OSHA) regulations. This position will implement safety improvements, and ensure that all associates are trained in the proper and safe use of production related equipment, and PPE requirements.
  • Responsible for production associate relations including performance reviews, discipline, coaching, counseling, and staff development.
  • Assists with the creation of efficient line layouts, and operations standards.
  • Responsible for the completion of production requirements, quality and on-time delivery to the customer.
  • Assists in the annual production budget.
  • Assists with plant layouts, operation standards, inventory levels and raw material inventory.
  • Communicate with the plant manager in communicating that all equipment, automation, and machines are working properly and PM schedules are met.
  • Completes special assignments as requested.
Skills and Experience:
  • Four year degree or equivalent combination of education & experience.
  • 5+ years of previous management experience in plant operations; demonstrated success in a management role in a manufacturing or industrial facility.

HAVE AUTOMOTIVE EXPERIENCE!
  • Experience implementing lean manufacturing practices, 5S workplace, machine reliability, waste reduction, visual factory management.
  • Excellent planning, organization, leadership, presentation, decision making, analytical, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise, motivate, coach, counsel and train.
  • Ability to effectively create and maintain a teamwork environment.
  • Strong computer and math skills.
  • Must be able to organize, plan, allocate resources and prioritize in order meet multiple overlapping and competing deadlines
  • Previous experience in automotive manufacturing or in a multi-cultural environment a plus.
  • Ability to travel to supplier and/or customer sites with minimal advance notice.
