Job Description
North Metro TV is seeking a creative, organized, and highly capable Production Manager to lead original local video production across the communities we serve. This is a hands-on storytelling role for someone who can move comfortably from concept to field production to final edit. The ideal candidate will produce compelling content that informs residents, highlights community life, and helps audiences better understand the people, projects, and issues shaping their cities. What you'll do Produce original local content Produce multiple short-form and feature video stories each week. Create videos at the request of the cities and public partners we serve. Develop original local news and community coverage. Report on development projects, road construction, new businesses, civic initiatives, community events, and other stories that affect residents. Produce features on local sports teams, standout high school athletes, and the people making an impact in our communities. Identify story opportunities, research background information, and shape compelling narratives from start to finish. Shoot in the field, conduct interviews, write scripts, edit, and deliver polished final productions on deadline. Other duties as assigned. Election coverage leadership The Production Manager will plan and execute one-on-one candidate interviews across roughly 30 races each year, including city council, school board, county, and state contests.
Responsibilities include:
Building the production schedule and interview calendar Coordinating outreach and logistics with candidates and campaigns Preparing interview questions and background research Conducting professional, fair, and informative interviews Managing production, editing, and delivery of election programming for broadcast and digital platforms Social media and audience engagement The Production Manager will also help extend the reach of our storytelling by managing social media promotion tied to the stories we produce.
This includes:
Creating social media posts, short clips, and promotional content Writing platform-appropriate copy and identifying opportunities for audience engagement Helping shape how stories are presented across digital and social channels Sports coverage leadership This position also manages a small part-time sports staff that supports seasonal coverage throughout the year.
Responsibilities include:
Assigning and coordinating coverage for select games and sporting events Providing production direction and editorial guidance Helping maintain quality and consistency across sports storytelling Schedule and work environment This position offers a flexible work schedule built around production needs, meetings, events, and story deadlines. While much of the work takes place during regular weekday business hours, candidates should expect occasional evening and weekend assignments, particularly for community events, election programming, and special productions. What we're looking for You are a strong interviewer, an excellent storyteller, and a confident editor. You know how to find the heart of a story. You ask thoughtful questions, build trust with sources, and create content that is clear, engaging, and useful to the public. You are comfortable owning every stage of the production process - from planning and shooting to graphics, editing, social promotion, and final delivery. You are adaptable, curious, resourceful, and committed to producing high-quality work that serves the community.
Qualifications Required:
Strong interviewing, writing, storytelling, and editorial judgment Professional video shooting experience and confidence in the field Advanced editing ability in Final Cut Pro Working proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud Experience creating motion graphics and visual elements that strengthen storytelling Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and production calendars • Certificate or diploma from a college or vocational institution in broadcasting, media communications, or similar program
Preferred:
Experience managing contributors, freelancers, or part-time staff is preferred Experience covering local government, elections, or community news Working knowledge or

guidelines Additional requirements: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to conduct interviews, write scripts, and communicate effectively with public officials, community partners, and residents. Valid driver's license Ability to lift, carry, and transport production equipment weighing up to 30 pounds. Ability to work in a variety of environments, including indoor and outdoor locations and occasional adverse weather conditions. Ability to set up and operate cameras, tripods, lighting, audio, and other production equipment. Ability to work independently, solve problems effectively, and adapt to changing production needs. Compensation The 2026 salary range for this full-time position is $63,419 to $75,499 , depending on qualifications and experience.
