Job Description

Production Manager - Mississippi Gulf Coast About the
Role:
Step into a Production Manager role with rare ownership and real upside in the fast-growing cannabis industry. As the on-site leader and head of the facility, you'll drive end-to-end processing and production — from extraction through edibles, pre-rolls, packaging, and finished goods — while building a high-performance team and scaling the operation through a major expansion. This is a dedicated processing and extraction operation: raw cannabis is brought in for your team to process, extract, and transform into premium finished products. The formulations and manuals are already built; your mission is to drive the team that drives production. Success in this role demands strategic vision, operational discipline, and the ability to thrive in a rapidly evolving, compliance-driven environment. This position has on-site location demands at our Mississippi Gulf Coast processing and production facility. Candidates will be expected to reside in-territory (or relocate before starting work). Relocation assistance up to $5,000 is available, disbursed after 90 days of employment.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee end-to-end facility operations — processing, extraction, edibles, pre-rolls, packaging, and finished goods — ensuring premium quality and operational efficiency. Lead, coach, and develop a team of 10, while mentoring an assistant production manager who will take on direct reports as the facility grows. Track, analyze, and report facility-wide KPIs (yield, throughput, waste, downtime, compliance) and implement adjustments to meet or exceed targets. Champion rigorous quality control systems to consistently produce premium cannabis products. Lead thorough audits of batch records, inventory, and seed-to-sale tracking to guarantee accuracy, traceability, and full regulatory compliance. Review and optimize labor and production schedules based on orders, inventory, resource availability, and production goals. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline workflows, boost productivity, and reduce waste. Manage facility resources, including budgeting, safety protocols, maintenance, and employee relations. Partner with senior leadership on facility goals, production forecasting, and long-term strategic planning.
Qualifications:
Hands-on cannabis extraction experience — required. Experience across processing, edibles, and pre-roll production. 3+ years leading teams in cannabis processing, manufacturing, or a regulated industry, with a track record of managing managers or running a department. Working knowledge of seed-to-sale tracking systems (Metrc or equivalent). Exceptional leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with production/inventory management software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Agility and resilience to thrive in the fast-paced cannabis industry. Ability to pass federal and state-mandated background checks.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business management, operations, plant science, or a related field. Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen continuous-improvement methodologies (certification a plus).
Compensation and Benefits:
Base salary: $50,000 - $80,000/year, commensurate with experience. Total compensation expected once performance targets are met: $100,000+ (OTE, Base + Bonus) by Year 2.
