Live Broadcast Producer (Part-Time) Wayne, NJ 07470 $20 an hour - Part-time $20 an hour - Part-time About Garden State Athletic Network At Garden State Athletic Network (GSAN) , we enhance the experience of student-athletes, fans, and communities by providing high-quality live streaming services for sporting events and major gatherings across New Jersey. The Role The Live Broadcast Producer is a leadership-focused role responsible for supervising the technical and creative success of our broadcasts. You will oversee the end-to-end production process—from transporting gear to managing on-site personnel—while maintaining the integrity of the stream feed. This position is ideal for an experienced media professional with strong problem-solving skills and a background in live sports.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Leadership:
Supervise on-site Broadcast Technicians, assigning roles and providing clear direction to ensure a cohesive production.External Coordination:
Act as the primary point of contact during events, communicating professionally with school officials, athletic organizations, and facility staff.Syndication Management:
Coordinate with third-party syndication partners during live broadcasts to ensure feeds are received clearly and meet delivery standards.Logistics & Oversight:
Manage the transport of equipment between our storage facility and venues; oversee the complete setup and strike of cameras, computers, audio gear, and switchers.Live Production:
Contribute directly to the broadcast by operating cameras or managing graphics and on-stream scoreboards as needed.Technical Integrity:
Monitor stream health and proactively troubleshoot equipment or feed issues to ensure 100% uptime and professional quality.Qualifications Education:
Associate's Degree in Broadcasting, Journalism, Sports Media, or a related field.Note:
A High School Diploma will be considered if accompanied by significant relevant experience.Experience:
3-5 years of hands-on experience with A/V equipment and 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.Technical Proficiency:
Expert knowledge of audio/video studio equipment and troubleshooting computer issues.Software Knowledge:
Proficiency in YouTube Studio, OBS, vMix, Blackmagic ATEM, TrackWrestling/FloArena, and Bitfocus Companion.Communication & Ethics:
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. To avoid conflicts of interest, candidates must not actively work for or contract with other media organizations providing exclusive interscholastic sports streaming within New Jersey.Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move A/V equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.Sports Knowledge:
A general understanding of interscholastic sports rules is a plus.Schedule & Travel Location & Mobility:
Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to various schools throughout our coverage area within New Jersey .Regional Travel:
Occasional travel outside the primary coverage area may be required (e.g., Eastern Pennsylvania and Southern New York ). We arrange carpooling where possible; however, if you are required to drive to these locations, you will receive additional per-diem compensation.Availability:
Must be flexible and willing to work weekends and weekday evenings during the academic year.Weekdays:
Games can start as early as 3:00 PM.Weekends:
Games can start as early as 9:00 AM.Call Times:
Typically 90 minutes prior to the start of the event.Predictable Scheduling:
To help you plan, we provide a minimum of 2 weeks' notice for any events added to the schedule.Compensation Rate:
$20.00 per hour.Structure:
Events are paid via a "per-diem" model based on the scheduled length of the event.Please note:
This part-time position is not eligible for additional benefits.Pay:
