You'll lead and manage the venue's A/V technical staff, ensuring world-class technical execution and delivery of quality experiences for visiting artists, production teams, clients and guests. As the ideal candidate, you'll bring technical expertise and a collaborative spirit, modeling teamwork, service, and integrity to create unforgettable experiences for every guest. Reports to General Manager. Oversee and coordinate day-to-day technical and operational needs for sound, lights, video, and backline equipment required for music performances and events. Manage and schedule a staff of A/V technicians for regular venue needs and special event coverage. Provide onsite supervision during events. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of integrated audio, video, and lighting systems, and build strong working relationships with production vendors while staying current with evolving technologies. Proactively identify requirements and coordinate technical needs of each event. Support venue staff and performers in the use of required systems (wireless mics, audio console, playback, etc.). Work with technical services staff, labor providers, and visiting artists to coordinate equipment load-in, set-up, tear-down, and load-out of event production equipment. Direct technical staff in preventative maintenance and repair of audio/visual/lighting systems. Collaborate with technical services, IT staff, and other departments to ensure system compatibility and functionality. Manage firmware and software upgrades to keep operating systems current. Log and diagnose equipment issues, coordinating vendor repairs as needed. Support leadership and technical teams in executing capital upgrade projects, recommend system enhancements based on operational performance, and provide training on audio systems and newly implemented equipment and procedures. Ensure safe and compliant use of all equipment throughout load-in, operation, and load-out, maintaining a secure environment for artists, clients, and staff in accordance with all applicable codes, regulations, and emergency procedures. Communicate and uphold all corporate standards, guidelines, policies and procedures in accordance with local, state and federal laws and regulations. Maintain personal integrity by abiding by and supporting the values and principles of the company. Follow and support brand SOPs. Participate and respond to the annual company audits. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education High school diploma or equivalent required Experience 5+ years' experience working as audio, lighting, or video engineer for a national touring act, production vendor/supplier, performance venue, and/or hotel A/V department Verified experience required as lead operator of A/V equipment during musical shows and corporate events, managing show crews, supervising and scheduling a staff of technicians, managing an inventory of equipment and overseeing production transportation logistics Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills Working knowledge of music, acoustics, stage lighting, and video engineering required Experience managing operations in accordance with union and labor relations agreements preferred Licenses / Certifications Must complete OSHA 10-Hour Training within 90 days of hire Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record required This position requires a pre-employment drug screening (4-panel: phencyclidine, cocaine, amphetamines, and opiates). Physical Requirements Speak, hear, and use non-verbal cues to communicate and use near, distant, and color vision. Frequent walking and standing. Occasionally climbs, sits, kneels, bends, steps up/down and reaches above shoulder. May repeatedly traverse stairs and walk on uneven terrain, often while carrying product. Frequently lifts/carries up to 50 lbs. May occasionally be required to team-lift over 50 lbs. Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills. Working Condition s Restaurant/bar/live music environments, indoors and outdoors, subject to both kitchen and customer areas, with large crowds and elevated noise levels.
