Job Description

The Production Manager is responsible for executing manufacturing strategy and leading all manufacturing and assembly operations to deliver consistent performance across safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This role builds and maintains the systems, structure, and discipline required to scale operations. In close partnership with cross-functional teams—including supply chain, engineering, and sales—the Production Manager aligns production capabilities with business objectives and demand. This role defines, implements, and upholds key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor performance, drive continuous improvement, and ensure operational excellence. Who will I report to? Director of Manufacturing Operations Who will report directly to me? Production Team What am I accountable for? LMA (Lead, Manage, Hold Accountable) Lead and oversee production employees, leveraging Team Leads to drive daily execution and team performance. Set clear expectations, KPIs, and performance standards aligned with operational goals. Conduct regular 1:1s and performance reviews, providing feedback and development support. Reinforce accountability across the production team for performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Own workforce planning and capacity needs, executing hiring, onboarding, and staffing as needed while building scalable processes for future leadership structure. Build and reinforce a culture of continuous improvement aligned with G&G's core values. Operations, Safety & Execution Provide direct oversight of daily production activities, ensuring schedules are met and issues are resolved in real time. Lead production employees utilizing Team Leads while providing direct support, coaching, and performance management to the production floor. Drive safety performance, embedding a proactive and compliant safety culture into daily operations Execute production schedules to meet customer demand and shipping requirements. Monitor throughput, productivity, and schedule attainment, driving corrective actions as needed Optimize use of labor, equipment, and materials. Build and maintain accountability systems (DMS boards, tier meetings, visual management) to ensure consistent execution. Align production, planning, and shipping to meet delivery commitments. Identify and escalate risks to production, capacity, or delivery. Maintain a clean, organized, and standards-driven production environment. Continuous Improvement & Process Development Lead continuous improvement and quality performance across production, improving efficiency, reducing waste, and supporting scalable growth Implement and sustain lean manufacturing principles and structured problem-solving Improve material flow, line balance, and overall production efficiency Develop and standardize processes (SOPs) to ensure consistency, scalability, and operational readiness for growth Key Measurables On-time production completion and delivery Units produced without rework Safety performance including incident rate and near miss reporting Labor productivity and throughput per team member Schedule attainment Progress on continuous improvement initiatives Team performance and supervisor effectiveness How do we show up every day? What will I need to succeed? Must align with our Core Values 7-12 years of experience in manufacturing leadership or operations management Proven ability to drive production performance and continuous improvement Strong leadership skills with experience managing through team leads Experience with lean manufacturing principles and production systems Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills Ability to operate in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
