Job Description

Overview Ignite your leadership skills and drive operational excellence as a Production Manager! In this dynamic role, you will oversee the entire manufacturing process, ensuring that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely. You will coordinate teams, optimize workflows, and implement quality standards to meet organizational goals. Your proactive approach will inspire teams to deliver high-quality products on time while maintaining a safe and motivating work environment. Job Summary The Production Manager leads the overhaul process for military engines and transmissions, overseeing safety, quality, focus and flow. The Production Manager leverages people, schedules, materials, and processes to meet contract requirements and improve operational performance. The Production Manager reports to the COO and is a key member of the Tecmotiv Operation Leadership team. Key Responsibilities Own daily operations across teardown, repair, assembly, and test; run standup meetings and visual management boards. Plan capacity, labor, and materials; set and manage master schedule, and WIP limits to meet TAT and delivery goals. Ensure compliance with
ISO 9001
QMS, ITAR/EAR, OSHA, and customer requirements; support audits and customer visits. Drive continuous improvement. Track and improve
KPIs:
schedule adherence of critical resources, manage outsourced vendors, maintain effective use of resources, inventory accuracy, and employee safety metrics. Coach and develop supervisors and technicians; manage performance, training, skills matrices, and cross-training. Collaborate with Engineering on technical issues; with Supply Chain on shortages and vendor quality; with Quality on NCRs/RCCA; with Finance on budgets.
Risk management:
identify constraints (equipment downtime, skills gaps, supply risks); execute mitigation plans. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or related equivalent experience considered, automotive experience highly prefered. 7-10+ years in operations/maintenance/overhaul; 3+ years in leadership roles within aerospace/defense or heavy industrial environments. Demonstrated success managing QMS-compliant production (AS9100/ISO 9001). Theory of Constraints or Lean experience preferred. We consider both a demonstrated experience adopting change through ERP and the ability to make data-driven decision-making to be strong advantages; Compliance & Security U.S. person (ITAR/EAR); Knowledge of DFARS/contractual compliance, OSHA/EHS, and export controls. Physical Requirements Frequent presence on the shop floor; ability to traverse production areas and observe operations; PPE as required. KPIs On-time Delivery Customer Quality Ratings Safety (TRIR, near-miss reporting) Employee engagement and training compliance Responsibilities Lead and supervise production teams to achieve daily manufacturing targets with precision and efficiency. Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring optimal resource allocation and workflow continuity. Monitor production processes closely, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to improve productivity. Enforce safety protocols rigorously, fostering a culture of safety awareness and compliance across all shifts. Collaborate with quality assurance teams to uphold product standards and address any deviations promptly. Maintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation to track performance metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives. Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure machinery operates reliably, minimizing downtime. Experience Experience with diesel engines and transmissions a strong asset History of making significant improvements in manufacturing or production management, demonstrating leadership in fast-paced environments. Strong understanding of production processes, quality control procedures, and safety regulations. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively under pressure. Effective communication skills to lead diverse teams and collaborate across departments. Technical proficiency with manufacturing software or ERP systems is a plus. Ability to analyze data trends and implement process improvements proactively.
