Elevate Quality. Deliver On Time. Drive a high-performance assembly operation that meets rigorous standards for quality, schedule, cost, and safety. In this role, you will coordinate people, processes, and materials to keep complex mechanical assemblies moving—especially across testing, gas turbine, and power generation workstreams.
Your Impact Quality Control:
Enforce SOPs and frozen processes; eliminate variation from approved work instructions.
Data Integrity:
Ensure every required characteristic is inspected and logged via the Operator Characteristics Claim Sheet.
Issue Resolution:
Lead investigations with Quality to identify root cause and install corrective/preventive actions.
Process Reliability:
Partner with Technical Services and QA to reduce non-conformance risk and process variability.
Readiness:
Stage materials and tooling ahead of scheduled starts to protect takt and flow.
Work Assignment:
Allocate tasks with clear standard times and methods; confirm resources align to routed standards and plans.
Throughput Management:
Monitor production, remove obstacles early, and adjust staffing or overtime to meet plan.
Continuous Improvement:
Observe work, identify waste, and implement efficiency gains.
Workforce Development:
Provide primary role training and practical cross-training for flexibility.
Performance Culture:
Conduct timely, objective reviews; recognize excellence; and apply fair, consistent discipline per policy. Core Qualifications 5+ years of Supervisor/Management experience in mechanical assembly, testing, gas turbines, or power generation. Minimum five years of progressive accomplishments in manufacturing. High school diploma required; technical degree preferred. Aerospace/defense program experience a plus. Influential leader with strong consensus-building skills. Clear written and verbal communicator; highly organized with excellent time management. Demonstrated ability to direct teams efficiently and meet deadlines. Problem-solver adept at defining issues and executing solutions. Proficient with Microsoft Office and electronic time/labor systems. Deep knowledge of—or the ability to rapidly learn—production operations and machinery. Team Interfaces Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Purchasing. Model a firm, fair leadership style and a cooperative, initiative-taking attitude. Physical Requirements Ability to stand/walk on the floor up to 10 hours per day. Frequent hand use; lift/carry up to 50 lbs independently. Visual precision for blueprint reading and detailed inspection. Adequate hearing for communication, alarms, and machinery in noisy areas. Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting. Consistent use of
PPE:
safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe shoes. Mental Requirements Decisive leadership and effective delegation under pressure. Analytical troubleshooting with root-cause and corrective-action rigor. Meticulous attention to detail and compliance with defense-industry standards. Multitask across supervision, scheduling, and delivery commitments. Maintain composure amid shifting priorities and tight timelines. Strong communication up and down the organization. Working knowledge of ITAR and applicable quality requirements; ensure team compliance.
