Job Description

Maximus is currently seeking a Manager, Innovation Center Events. This role supports the design, setup, and execution of Innovation Center events across in-person, hybrid, and virtual formats. Working closely with the Sr. Manager of Innovation & Engagement, you'll help execute day-to-day event operations with a strong focus on Zoom Events platform support, AV production, and live event execution. This is a highly hands-on role designed for someone eager to grow technical and production skills while contributing to high-visibility internal programsThis position is Hybrid/Remote with an expectation to be on-site in McLean, VA approximately 5-6 days per month to support events. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work hand-in-hand with MAXIMUS Project Teams and key stakeholders to develop, manage and deliver communication products and services
  • Manage the development innovative strategies and approaches to increase consumer awareness, understanding and engagement in government programs
  • Ensure sound management of client delivery: scope, approaches, timelines, budgets, resources and quality
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of integrated communications strategies/tactics across multiple platforms, including print, digital, and social media
  • Support business development initiatives and high-level meetings with existing and potential future clients
  • Develop briefs and/or presentations in support of new business opportunities
  • Manage resources including consultants, vendors and/or subcontractors.
Job-Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Zoom Events & Virtual Platform Support
  • Support the setup, configuration, and execution of events using the Zoom Events platform, including meetings, webinars, and multi-session agendas
  • Assist in building event hubs, session schedules, speaker panels, and registration elements within Zoom Events
  • Support session logistics such as speaker onboarding, technical checks, dry runs, and live session transitions
  • Help manage interactive features during live sessions, including Q&A, chat, polls, and breakout rooms
  • Provide real-time technical support during events to help ensure a smooth attendee and presenter experience.
Event Production & Live Execution
  • Support the end-to-end event lifecycle, including pre-event preparation, live execution, and post-event wrap-up
  • Assist with run-of-show execution, session timing, and coordination between speakers, moderators, and producers
  • Provide live event support during Innovation Center programs, workshops, demos, leadership briefings, and hackathons.
Audiovisual (AV) & Livestream Support
  • Assist with setup, operation, and breakdown of AV equipment, including microphones, cameras, lighting, displays, and presentation systems
  • Support livestreaming and recording of events, ensuring high-quality audio and video for both in-room and virtual audiences
  • Monitor live feeds and troubleshoot basic AV or streaming issues during events
  • Coordinate with internal AV teams or vendors as needed to support more complex production needs.
Innovation Center Event Support
  • Support consistent delivery of high-quality events within the Innovation Center environment
  • Assist with maintaining event spaces, equipment readiness, and basic production inventories
  • Help document event setups, production workflows, and post-event learnings to support ongoing improvement.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
  • Work closely with event managers, experience designers, and Innovation Center stakeholders to support event goals
  • Assist with post-event activities such as recording management, basic analytics review, and feedback collection
  • Learn and apply best practices for hybrid event execution, accessibility, and audience engagement

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and 5+ Years Job-Specific Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant coursework in events, communications, media production, or a related field. Additional years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • Direct experience supporting events built in the Zoom Events platform
  • Experience supporting multi-session or multi-day internal events
  • Interest in user experience, event design, or innovation-focused programming.
