Position Purpose The Postproduction Manager position supports all Film & Media Studies courses that include video, sound, animation, and/or timebased components. The manager will collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to carry out curricular goals for Film & Media Studies, including planning, equipment maintenance, and curricular support for digital media. In addition, the Postproduction Manager will maintain the analogue film suites, animation labs, and editing suites. They will work with the Technical Director to develop and deliver workshops and learning modules that advance course needs and support student projects. Required Qualifications Education and Yrs Exp Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities BA or BFA degree in Electronic Media, Film, Graphic Design, Studio Art, or related areas; and/or a combination of education in different disciplines. Candidates will have experience working in education in K12, higher ed, or community settings
Equipment:
Mac
Knowledge of 16mm filmmaking
Equipment inventory experience
Software:
Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate, After Effects, InDesign, and Audition
Knowledge on use of flatbed scanners and digital workflow
Creative problemsolving skills
Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively with lessor nontechnical users, often under pressure, while maintaining a positive and cooperative attitude
Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software
Candidates will have experience facilitating technical workshops and/or teaching production methods Preferred Qualifications MFA degree in related field
Experience as an artist, filmmaker, designer, or interdisciplinary practitioner
