Position Overview We are seeking an experienced sign industry professional to serve as our Operations Manager & Production Lead. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing daily production, installation, logistics, and project execution while actively participating in large-format print production and vinyl application. As a member of our Executive Leadership Team, you will work directly with company ownership to improve efficiency, maintain quality standards, drive profitability, and support the continued growth of the business. All production staff, installers, and installation subcontractors report directly to this position. You will be supported by a dedicated Project Coordinator who assists with scheduling and logistics. Key Responsibilities Oversee all production and installation activities from project kickoff through completion. Develop and manage production schedules to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget. Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, vendors, subcontractors, and installation crews. Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for production and installation. Manage and, when necessary, perform large-format printing, laminating, cutting, fabrication, finishing, and quality control. Ensure equipment is properly maintained and operating efficiently. Lead installation scheduling and oversee quality standards for all completed work. Recruit, train, coach, and develop production and installation personnel. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with sales and project management teams to review project specifications, timelines, and budgets. Monitor labor costs, material usage, job profitability, and production efficiency. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate pricing for materials and subcontracted services. Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards and installation best practices. Minimum Requirements 10+ years of sign industry experience, including leadership responsibility for production and installation operations. Extensive experience with large-format printing, vinyl graphics, wraps, and architectural graphics. Ability to fabricate and produce a variety of sign types using common sign-making equipment. Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Professional and effective communication skills with employees, customers, vendors, and subcontractors. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Qualifications Strong organizational, project management, and time-management skills. Proven ability to manage teams and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Experience with permitting, estimating, proposals, and job costing. Ability to preflight customer artwork and prepare production-ready files. Strong understanding of sign fabrication methods, materials, and substrates. Expert operation of wide-format printers, plotters, laminators, and finishing equipment. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Onyx, and related production software. Strong math and measurement skills for estimating, production planning, and installation execution. Availability for occasional evening or weekend work when project schedules require it. Preferred Qualifications 3M Preferred Installer certification. Graphic design or production artwork experience. Experience with CoreBridge software. Experience with Monday.com project management software. Experience with HubSpot CRM. Spanish language proficiency.
