Job Description
WLUK Summer News Intern Step inside the newsroom where stories break, voices matter, and information moves at the speed of now. We're looking for a passionate, curious, and driven News Intern to join our team for Summer 2026. As part of a forward-thinking media organization, you won't just observe—you'll actively contribute to the storytelling that informs and connects our community across platforms. From breaking news to digital-first storytelling, this is your opportunity to experience what modern journalism really looks like. What You'll Do This is a fast-paced, real newsroom—no two days are the same.

Gain exposure to control room operations and how live broadcasts come together in real time What You'll Gain This internship is designed to build real skills—not just fill a line on your résumé. Hands-on experience in modern, multi-platform journalism A deeper understanding of how today's newsrooms operate—from broadcast to digital and social Opportunities to build a professional portfolio with published or produced work Mentorship from experienced journalists who know the industry inside and out Valuable connections to jumpstart your career in media To be considered, candidates must: Be at least 18 years of age Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or a recent graduate Be at least a sophomore at an accredited college/university Be eligible to work in the United States Be available to work on-site at WLUK in Green Bay, WI approximately 15/20 hours per week for 10 weeks Be able to start between June 1 - June 19, 2026 Have reliable transportation (housing/relocation is not provided) Be passionate about local news, storytelling, and community impact Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Internship is unpaid All candidates must apply through our careers portal and complete pre-employment requirements.
