Job Description

Typesetter (Contract)
  • Atlanta, USA We are currently hiring a skilled Typesetter to join our team on a contract basis in Atlanta.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced typesetter looking for flexible work arrangements and the chance to work with a dynamic team. As a Typesetter, you will be responsible for creating and formatting text and graphics for various print and digital publications, such as books, magazines, brochures, and websites. You will work closely with editors, designers, and clients to ensure that all content is accurately reflected in the final product.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize typesetting software and tools to format text and graphics according to design specifications
  • Collaborate with editors and designers to ensure that content is accurate and visually appealing
  • Proofread final layouts to detect any errors in spelling or formatting
  • Make necessary adjustments to layouts based on feedback from clients or team members
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in typesetting technology
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Typesetter or similar role
  • Proficient in typesetting software such as InDesign, QuarkXPress, or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent proofreading skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Knowledge of typography principles and design aesthetics
Education:
A degree or certification in Graphic Design, Publishing, or related field is preferred but not required.
Salary:
This is a contract position paying $1200 per project.
