Job Openings Editorial Specialist 0300 - Project Management - Saint Louis, Missouri (Hybrid) Company Background GW, Inc. is a premier supplier of publishing services. We focus mainly on educational, reference, and trade products and are guided by two main principles in all we do: (1) provide the best service possible to make our clients' lives easier and (2) produce superior products that foster personal learning and improvement and contribute to society as a whole. Job Summary GW, Inc. is looking to add an Editorial Specialist to our team! This position manages editorial and proofreading projects for educational publishers, professional associations, and other organizations nationwide, spanning a wide range of disciplines including health sciences, nursing, medicine, mathematics, psychiatry, and library science. As an Editorial Specialist, your primary duties would include: Assigning and managing freelance copyeditors and proofreaders for your assigned projects Performing quality checks on all material returned by freelancers and correcting (or returning) files as needed Managing the schedule, keeping the client up to date on the status of projects, and delivering final files on schedule Managing the editing budgets, including tracking billing data and initiating final invoicing Copyediting or proofreading the occasional small project Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat are used extensively for these tasks. Learning resources and training opportunities are readily available at GW to strengthen computing skills and improve efficiency. What We're Looking For You have prior copyediting experience and are passionate about adding value to educational content. You are organized and able to expertly prioritize multiple projects without sacrificing quality or schedule. You are detail-oriented and can quickly identify and correct inconsistencies. You are a strong communicator, both in writing and in person. You are adaptable and self-motivated, with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement. What We Offer Variety! Proficiency in American Medical Association (AMA) style, Chicago Manual of Style (CMoS), and/or American Psychological Association (APA) style preferred. 1-2 years' editing experience. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong grammar and spelling skills. Detail-oriented and able to quickly identify and correct inconsistencies. Ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
