Job Title:
On-Air Personality Position Overview We are looking for a relatable, high-energy Air Personality to connect with our audience and serve as a prominent voice for our station. Our ideal candidate is an entertainer and a storyteller who lives and breathes the lifestyle of our format, loves engaging with local listeners, and knows how to build a loyal community both on the air waves and across social media platforms.
Key Responsibilities On-Air Execution:
Host a compelling, tightly structured daily air shift, delivering creative content, executing format mechanics flawlessly, and maintaining a high-energy, relatable listener connection.
Content Generation:
Prep daily show material including local news and other local events and happenings, format-relevant trending topics, and highly engaging telephone or listener-interactive segments.
Digital & Social Media Engagement:
Produce daily content for the stations website and social media channels (video, text, and audio) to extend the shows brand beyond the broadcast signal.
Commercial Production:
Voice and produce crisp commercial spots, station imaging, liners, and promotional announcements daily.
Community Presence:
Represent the station at live broadcasts, community events, client remotes, and station promotions, interacting warmly and professionally with listeners and advertisers.
Sales Collaboration:
Work closely with the sales department to execute client initiatives and integrated on-air/digital promotional campaigns.
Qualifications & Experience Experience:
2+ years of on-air experience is preferred, with a proven track record of strong show preparation, sharp execution, and audience growth.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with modern radio automation systems and Adobe Audition for tracking and production.
On-Air Presence:
Excellent voice quality, impeccable timing, a strong understanding of how to read the room, and the ability to ad-lib naturally under pressure.
Local Focus:
A genuine interest in the local community, its culture, events, and people.
Attributes:
Highly reliable, adaptable, creative, open to regular air-check coaching, and able to work flexible hours including occasional weekends for station events.
Compensation & Benefits Pay Structure:
Competitive base salary commensurate with market size and experience with potential for live appearance/remote talent fees.
