MediaCo Operations national broadcast network EstrellaTV offers a unique aggregation of Spanish-language programming, including originals, topical entertainment, reality, news, and comedy. News Anchor Position Summary:
Anchor digital newscasts across MediaCo Operations local broadcast and digital platforms. The ideal candidate is a proactive and enterprising journalist with strong writing skills and a proven ability to develop original story ideas and execute them from pitch to on-air delivery. Candidates must demonstrate a compelling and engaging on-camera presence. A strong understanding of issues impacting both local and national Hispanic audiences is essential. The successful candidate is highly organized, creative, and committed, with a keen interest in national and international news. This role requires a journalist who is fully immersed in the digital landscape, with hands-on experience in web publishing, social media platforms, and multi-platform storytelling.Responsibilities:
Evaluate and write news stories and report the facts on live digital and streaming newscasts, recorded programs either in studio or on location; determine most newsworthy and compelling stories. Present information in a manner that connects with the audience. Collaborate with all news personnel to generate interesting show topics that engage the interests of our viewers. Ability to present and deliver local, national, and digital-first news content with clarity, accuracy, and engaging on-air presence. Ability to adapt storytelling across multiple platforms, ensuring consistency and alignment with editorial and brand standards. Contribute actively to the station's social media presence , including creating, adapting, and publishing content across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), and others. Must be a strong team player who collaborates effectively with producers, editors, and newsroom staff to deliver a polished and compelling final product on air and across digital platforms.Requirements:
Knowledge of and comfortable discussing current news events. Experience producing content for mobile apps and digital news platforms , including short-form video, breaking news updates, and audience engagement tools. Experience in weather presentation is strongly preferred and may be required depending on newsroom needs. Versed in editing, investigative reporting, and writing. Ability to multi-task and work in a high pressure fast paced environment with tight deadlines. Knowledge of the Spanish language marketplace.Fully bilingual:
English/Spanish. Prior, related on-camera work in broadcast or web video production preferred. Experience in social networks (Facebook,Instagram and Twitter). Understanding of Copyrights for images and videos for social networks and web. Detail oriented,organized,and able to work with cross functional teams. Minimum 3 years previous on-air reporting experience. Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills. Multimedia or Journalism degree preferred.Eligibility Requirements:
Must be willing to work in Burbank, CA. Must be willing to work long hours, holidays and weekends on short notice. Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment background investigation. Must have legal authorization to work in the United States. Must possess valid CA driver's license and a good driving record. Must be 18 years or older. Must be willing to travel on short notice.
