Action News Now is looking for a driven, creative, and energetic Part-Time Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) to join our award-winning newsroom serving Northern California. This position is ideal for someone who loves being in the field, finding compelling stories, and connecting with viewers through strong storytelling across broadcast, digital, and social media platforms. What You'll Do Shoot, write, edit, and report news stories for television, digital, and social platforms Develop original story ideas and cultivate sources throughout the North State Produce compelling news packages, live reports, VOSOTs, and digital content Turn daily stories under deadline pressure while maintaining accuracy and journalistic integrity Post stories, photos, and videos to ActionNewsNow.com and social media platforms Cover breaking news, severe weather, community events, and enterprise stories Operate independently in the field while coordinating with producers and newsroom leadership Participate in newsroom meetings and contribute story ideas What We're Looking For Strong writing, reporting, and storytelling skills Ability to shoot and edit video independently Comfortable appearing live on-air and on digital platforms Strong news judgment and understanding of ethical journalism Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays as news coverage demands Valid driver's license and clean driving record Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field preferred Experience with non-linear editing systems Knowledge of social media content creation and audience engagement Familiarity with AP Style Why Action News Now?
