Mass Communications Full Job Description Job Summary:
A key member of the Denver Gazette team, the Breaking News Reporter is primarily responsible for pursuing daily breaking news for the website and our daily digital edition. We prefer a candidate with strong news photography skills. This job entails working weekends and some nights, as assigned.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Covers breaking news for our digital platforms and the daily e-edition Shoots photos for spot news, feature or enterprise stories, as assigned Writes about public safety stories, such as crime trends Collaborates and maintains strong working relationship with other staffers Uses multiple tools, such as video, and platforms, notably social media, to convey stories Develops a wide range of sources in metro Denver Writes enterprise articles and other stories, as assigned Familiar with SEO requirements and other strategies to draw in and engage a wider audience

Minimum Education & Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in journalism or mass communications, or a similar field.
