Job Description

This role is open to journalists and nontraditional candidates with strong content creation and on-camera experience. We welcome creative storytellers from all backgrounds who can craft compelling content across broadcast, digital, and social platforms. The Role We're looking for a Multi-Media Journalist / Anchor who is curious, creative, and deeply connected to the communities we serve. You'll pitch, shoot, write, edit, and present stories that spark conversation, inform viewers, and engage audiences on broadcast, digital, and social platforms. What You'll Do Research, pitch, and produce compelling stories for broadcast, digital, and social platforms Shoot, write, and edit your own content with a strong visual and storytelling style Anchor newscasts and report live from the field as assigned Create engaging digital-first and social content that complements on-air reporting Exercise strong news judgment while maintaining the highest journalism ethics Build trusted relationships and sources within the communities we serve Interact with viewers and users on social media to extend story reach and engagement Collaborate with producers, editors, and newsroom leadership Contribute ideas for innovative formats, storytelling approaches, and audience growth What You Bring Background in journalism, digital media, content creation, communications, or a related field (traditional newsroom experience not required) Strong storytelling skills across video, written, and on-camera formats Experience creating content for social and digital platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.) is a plus Solid writing skills with an understanding of storytelling fundamentals and accuracy Experience or interest in shooting and editing video (Adobe Premiere preferred) Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Creative, flexible thinker who enjoys experimenting with new formats and platforms Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and fairness Knowledge of camera operation and basic production techniques Positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to learn Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Why You'll Love Working Here Competitive compensation Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision Company-paid life insurance, short-term, and long-term disability 401(k) with company match 17 days PTO plus paid sick time Clothing and grooming allowances Relocation assistance available Ongoing opportunities for professional development and career growth
