The company also publishes print anddigital versions of the Philadelphia Tribune, various communityfocused supplements and as well as producing events of interest thatimpact the African American community.
JobSummary:
ThePhiladelphia Tribune Media Group is seeking anInvestigative Reporter.

The successfulcandidate will be responsible for developing, researching, reportingand producing high-impact investigative stories for print anddigital. You will be representing a newspaper with an unprecedentedlegacy within the region's African-American community and alsoplayed a significant role in some of the most pivotal events withinthe last 100 years in African and American history. Dutiesand ResponsibilitiesGenerates,research and report short, mid and long form stories throughinvestigation and research Usesources, documents, computer-assisted reporting, and otherjournalistic tools to develop, report, write and produce exclusiveaccountability stories and investigative projectsAnalyzeand report documents, such as lawsuitsand other legaldocuments,tax records, government reports, regulatory reports, and corporatefinancial filings.

Analyzeand report using Databases of public records.

Conductsnumerous interviews with on-the-record sources as well as, in someinstances, interviews with anonymoussources(for example whistleblowers)Usefederal or state Freedomof Information Actsto obtain documents and data from government agencies.

Gathersinformation by using sources, tips, press releases etc.

Performsresearch through interviews, public records and other sourcesVerifiesfacts to assure accuracy in reportingPerformsother duties as may be describedDesiredQualificationsDegreein Journalism or related field with a minimum of 3 years newspaperexperience preferred.
