/ usatoday.com is seeking a year-long fellow to join its Opinion team to fact-check opinion columns, with the opportunity to also write opinion columns. Our Opinion team/ opinion.usatoday.com strives to present an opinion section online and in print that reflects the fullness of the national dialogue, offering commentary from columnists, readers and its own writers on a wide range of issues from many perspectives. Fairness and accuracy are paramount, as are excellent news judgment, source building and a sense of fair play.
Minimum salary for this position:
This fellowship is for one calendar year and pays $75,000 for the year. This role is remote and can work from all states except for Alaska, Hawaii or Wyoming.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or master's degree in journalism or any other subject or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional reporting experience or significant reporting internships. Strong research skills. Experience working and reporting in a fast-paced environment, including during breaking news. Ability to write well and meet deadlines.
