$25-28/hour (pay is commensurate with experience and education) Bonuses may be given based upon performance
Employment Type:
Full-Time, at least 32 hours per week
FLSA Status:
Non-Exempt Job Location:
Hybrid In-Office/Remote (1-2 days per week are required in-office)
Office Location:
1290 Broadway, Ste. 1700, Denver, Colorado 80203 (Must be able to reliably commute to this location for in-office days and have reliable internet connection for remote work)
Working Environment:
Office environment. Physical activities may include sitting in office setting with a requirement of the potential to lift, at least, 20lbs.

Position Summary:
Colorado Bar Association (CBA) is hiring a writing assistant for the CBA and the Denver Bar Association (DBA). Collaborate with the Membership and Marketing & Communications teams to increase visibility and credibility within the legal community, provide exceptional customer service to our members and the public, and aid in effective communications through our newsletters, magazines, online publications, and social media. Assist in additional campaigns for retention, recruitment, and specialized categories related to existing members, student members, incoming attorneys, etc. Inform members of the benefits, services, and opportunities available to them as members of the CBA and DBA.

None.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Marketing & Communications
  • Write/edit/proofread communications for a professional membership organization, including public announcements and public statements, recruitment/renewal campaigns, annual reports, articles, speeches, marketing copy, social media posts, and member-facing messaging.
  • Manage and serve as writer for The Docket, the DBA's premier online magazine with monthly publications. This includes managing volunteer legal professionals for articles and deadlines; collaborating with other departments on features like DBA member benefits, photography/videography, and spotlight features; online layout and design of The Docket; and other duties as necessary.
  • Additional work may include writing for The Colorado Lawyer and will include photography/videography, photo and video editing, evening events, and some travel.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, in addition to either a higher education degree or certification(s). Degree or certification(s) in the field of marketing or communications a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills that continually demonstrate professionalism.
  • Knowledge of standard office management systems and computer software, such as Microsoft Office, Adobe, Zoom, etc.
  • Ability to work well in fast pace environments, collaborate with other staff, and multitask multiple projects.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and experience applying inclusive practices to membership recruitment, engagement, communications, and retention strategies.
  • Service-oriented and member-centric mindset with strong customer-service judgment.
  • Ideal characteristics include attention-to-detail, integrity, determination, curiosity, and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience and familiarity with the following:
  • Windows OS
  • Microsoft Suite Applications, including Microsoft Teams
  • Wordpress web design and site maintenance
  • Canva
  • AMS and CRM platforms
  • SmartSheets
HTML/CSS
  • Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, Acrobat, etc.
