Lakeway Publishers, Inc., a leading news organization serving the Lewisburg region, is seeking a versatile Sports Reporter/Multi-Media Journalist (MMJ) to join our team. This is a rare opportunity to cover a diverse range of sports, from high school rivalries to professional teams. We need a self-starter who can generate unique story ideas, break news, and engage a passionate audience across multiple platforms, including digital, and social media. If you're interested in just scores and highlights, this is not the job for you. We are looking for a true storyteller with an engaging presence and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities Enterprise Reporting:

Generate, research, and report on compelling sports news and events for both assigned markets.

Multi-Platform Content Creation:

Write articles, produce videos, and create engaging social media content that keeps our audiences informed and entertained across all platforms.

Live Event Coverage:

Attend and report on community sports events, which often include evenings and weekends.

Source Development:

Develop and maintain a strong network of contacts with athletes, coaches, and sports officials in both markets to secure exclusive stories and insights.

Multimedia Production:

Shoot and edit your own video and visual content to accompany written stories.

Collaboration:

Work closely with news editors, and other team members to ensure comprehensive and cohesive sports coverage. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in journalism, Communications, or a related field. Reporting experience in a sports role Strong on-camera presence and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in shooting and editing video content Deep knowledge and passion for the local sports landscape in both regions. Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel between the two markets as needed.
