Exhibit Specialist (Livestock)Rate of Pay:
$19.75 per hourPosition Purpose:
Assists the Livestock Program Coordinator perform daily duties during the annual OC Fair including but not limited to with installation and tear-down of exhibits, maintenance, clean animal pens, complete office and administrative support, answer questions from the public, safeguard building entrances/exits and exhibits, receive, prepare, and clerk competitive exhibits. This is a seasonal temporary position not exceed 122 days.TO APPLY PLEASE VISIT

Provides assistance to Exhibit Attendants and Exhibit Maintenance in the execution of their job duties as directed by the Agricultural Programs Supervisor. May act as a lead with several administrative aspects of the Livestock competitive program including receipt of Livestock competitive entries, deficiencies, mailings and production of judging sheets and show catalogs. Collaborate with the supervisor to prepare, during and after shows, assist and organize show books, judging sheets, awards, assist judges, clerking, setup and tear-down of show ring. Support the department supervisor in assisting with the arrival and departure of competitive exhibitors, exhibits and displays. Performs heavy manual labor and other tasks as needed to maintain the appearance of the livestock area. Perform clerical needs; assist callers over the phone and walk-in traffic in the Livestock Office, extensive data entry and general office duties including maintaining. computerized and hard-copy, records and files.Caring for animals:
cleaning manure, feeding and watering when needed. Assist with the setup, teardown, maintenance and repairs of various structures and exhibits in the Livestock area. Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of exhibit for animal and public safety. Dismantles competitive exhibits and returns entries to the public after an event. Assists in delivery and departure of exhibits at the annual OC Fair including oversee the loading, unloading and weigh-in of animals. Monitors the exhibit building entrances and exits, and secures the exhibits during hours of operation. Provides information about the exhibit to the public and answers questions about the exhibit, the event and the property. May operates equipment including forklifts, man lifts, tractors, carts and hand tools. Must be at least 18 years old. Strong computer skills, particularly with MS Word and Excel necessary. Simple mathematical skills essential Ability to use hand tools necessary Must be enthusiastic and able to handle occasional stressful situations effectively Attention to detail a must. Excellent teamwork skills necessary. Strong customer service skills required. Must be able to work all 23 days of the annual OC Fair. Ability to work outside the normal business day/week as demanded by events and programs. Ability to safely lift or move objects of up to 50 lbs.Preferences:
Valid California driver's license required. Knowledge of livestock animals. Experience leading others in a project setting preferred. Knowledge of agriculture. Previous experience or certification on carts, forklift, tractor or bobcat. Knowledge of livestock show office procedures highly preferred. Some experience leading or guiding the work of others. Bilingual (English and Spanish).Physical Demands:
