Position Summary The Carpentry Lead oversees the fabrication, scenic execution, and installation of custom-built elements for seasonal environments and live entertainment experiences. This role combines leadership, technical carpentry, and scenic artistry to ensure all builds meet the highest standards of quality, durability, and creative intent. Key Responsibilities Lead the fabrication and assembly of custom scenic elements, including structural carpentry, foam carving, and specialty builds for themed environments and attractions Interpret creative briefs, design drawings, and renderings to develop execution plans that align with artistic vision, budget, and production timelines Participate in the development of project budgets and fabrication strategies in collaboration with design, production, and fabrication teams Execute and oversee scenic finishing processes, including surface preparation, painting, pouncing, tracing, scaling artwork, and applying faux finishes, textures, and distressing techniques Paint, clean, maintain, and repair scenic elements and assets used across shows, events, and attractions Develop, implement, and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new and existing scenic fabrication and finishing practices to ensure consistency, efficiency, and safety across all projects Ensure all scenic work meets visual standards under show lighting conditions and maintains consistency across all elements Supervise daily shop operations, maintaining an organized, efficient, and safety-compliant work environment Collaborate cross-functionally with designers, fabricators, and production teams to ensure successful project delivery Lead and support installation and dismantle efforts, including travel to project sites nationwide Troubleshoot and problem-solve on-site during installs to ensure builds are executed accurately and efficiently Maintain strict confidentiality when working on proprietary or client-sensitive projects Additional Responsibilities Support special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned Contribute to process improvement and operational efficiency Collaborate with team members across departments Qualifications Strong background in carpentry within a scenic, theatrical, or themed entertainment environment Demonstrated experience with foam carving and scenic fabrication techniques Proficiency in scenic painting methods, including pouncing, tracing, color matching, and faux finishing Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, renderings, and build plans Experience leading teams or managing workflows within a fabrication or production environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Knowledge of materials, coatings, and finishes suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications Willingness and ability to travel for installations and dismantle projects Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining quality standards Preferred Qualifications Experience in theme park, live entertainment, or experiential fabrication environments Familiarity with large-scale scenic builds and immersive environments Understanding of staging and installation best practices Core Competencies Accountability and ownership Problem-solving and adaptability Attention to detail Collaboration and teamwork Initiative and proactive mindset Why Join Memoir Opportunity to be part of a high-growth, nationally recognized company Work on innovative, large-scale immersive experiences Collaborative and entrepreneurial culture Direct impact on meaningful, visible projects Additional Notes Responsibilities may evolve as the organization grows and business needs change Employment with Memoir Agency is at-will, subject to applicable law and company policies
