Standard Internship $ Paid $12.00/hr Part Time Description Fort Wayne Civic Theatre is offering a Paid Technical Theater Production internship for Summer Semester 2026! Come join our team! We are offering professional production experience. We have an impressive season of Mainstage Musicals and Plays as well as regular community events. See what shows you could be working on through our website: fwcivic.org This position is for individuals looking to enhance their technical theatre skills in the following areas: painting/sketching, prop making, construction, electrical, lighting design, costuming, sewing, rigging, sound engineering, and sound design. Gain valuable experience while working alongside Theatre Industry Professionals!
Approximate Internship Length:
May 24th, 2026 - August 21, 2026 For more information, contact: Gavin Thomas Drew Education Director 260-422-8641 x226 gdrew@fwcivic.org Responsibilities Assist in any of the following areas: scenic painting, set building/carpentry, costuming, lighting, sound, and prop construction. Lead and assist on projects in the shop alongside shop staff and volunteers. All activities would take place in our supervised shop/stage and during an agreed-upon schedule. The internship provides valuable real-life experience working on large-scale professional-quality productions within a local setting. Qualifications Must be a 2-year or 4-year college/university student with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Or a recent graduate who completed the degree no more than six months prior to the start of the internship. Must have an interest or background in Technical Theatre. Prior experience is not necessary. The approximate dates for the internship are May 24th, 2026 - August 21, 2026. Schedule may be adjusted depending on applicant's availability. Internship must be for at least 12 hours per week. This position is ideal for multi-talented Theater or Art students seeking on-the-job production experience and a desire to refine and showcase existing talents as well as learn new skills.
