Job Title:
Lighting Designer Job Description We are currently seeking two Lighting Designers to join our team in Raleigh/Greensboro. The Lighting Designer will support a major lighting program by addressing the increased demand for lighting across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. Responsibilities Field utility infrastructure, visually identify and verify, take photos, and take measurements. Determine lighting demands and document data from the field. Formulate and design outdoor lighting plans that meet customer needs within established guidelines and standards. Communicate effectively with energy employees, customers, construction crews, and other agencies. Manage customer complaints and work towards finding resolutions. Essential Skills Proficiency in engineering and design. Proficiency in Excel and Word. Understanding of electric fundamentals and power distribution. Experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Docusign. Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to perform fieldwork that involves considerable walking and carrying equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's or Associate's Degree is a plus. Previous design experience, particularly in the electric utility industry or lighting, is preferred. Client or customer service experience is important. Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles. Knowledge of general construction and the ability to research engineering and design issues. Work Environment This position involves a combination of office work and field duties. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
