Job Description
An Exciting Opportunity with a Leading Childrenswear Brand Andy & Evan is a recognized name in childrenswear, known for combining trend-driven design with exceptional quality. We are continuing to grow and are looking for a Technical Designer who is eager to make an impact and grow with us. This is more than a technical role, it's an opportunity to be hands-on in shaping product across a wide range of categories and sizes, from preemie through Big Boys (18-20) and Girls (14-16). You'll play a key role in bringing designs to life, ensuring the highest standards of fit, comfort, and construction.
Required Experience:
5+ years of Technical Design experience in Childrenswear Private label experience is helpful but not requiredProduct Categories:
Cut & Sew Knit, Woven Swimwear & Sweater experience a plus (training available)Size Range:
Preemie through Big Boys 18-20 and Girls 14-16 Key Skills & Qualifications Strong knowledge of garment construction and fit Strong understanding of grading and size scaling Solid understanding of pattern fundamentals Knowledge of CPSIA and U.S. childrenswear regulations Ability to develop base size measurements from design concept through production specs Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment Able to understand a variety of brand fits and aesthetic. Able to follow tech pack construction details and design comments. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel Responsibilities Measure and evaluate fit samples (Proto, Fit, PP, TOP) and prepare for fittings Assist with and eventually lead fit sessions on mannequins Ensure sample accuracy for construction, trims, finishes, and tech pack specifications Identify issues related to balance, proportion, and comfort Provide clear, actionable fit comments to factories and ensure corrections are implemented Troubleshoot production and quality issues Perform PP/TOP quality control to confirm garments meet approved standards before customer submission Collaborate closely with Design and Production teams throughout development to final production Manage sample receiving, sending, and distribution of sample packages Why Andy & EvanThis is a chance to join a well-known childrenswear company at an exciting stage of growth, where your work will be visible, valued, and impactful.
