Job Description

Technical Director - Theatre Bend, OR 97703 Temporary, Full-time Temporary, Full-time Job Summary Cascades Theatrical is looking for an individual who can build theatre sets for our productions (set design experience is a plus) This individual would be responsible for all aspects of building projects and some minor property maintenance. We are looking for a creative, highly dependable and organized individual, who is skilled in carpentry. Some of the main duties will be, but are not limited to, maintaining a workshop, building and tearing down sets, obtaining or creating special props, supervising volunteers, assure all equipment is running properly. You would be collaborating with Directors or Artistic Director's on set design. This is a temporary, full-time position. Your expertise will help create captivating performances that inspire and entertain audiences. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work behind the scenes in a fast-paced environment where creativity and technical skill collide to produce unforgettable experiences.
Duties:
o The primary role involves building a set and breaking down sets. o Maintaining the building. o Minor maintenance tasks and keeping the building in good shape. o Strong organization and communication skills. o Meets with Production Crew, Sound Techs & Directors. o Available to work a flexible schedule and some occasional nights & weekends as business demands. o Be able to coordinate and collaborate with other team members. o Work within budget. o Good decision-making and communications skills. o Accepts deliveries. o Uses safe work practices. o Further responsibilities will be assisting with general upkeep such as cleaning, organizing, and any other assignment as needed.
Requirements:
o Must have a reliable vehicle and a valid DL. o Able to work a flexible schedule to meet business demands. o Strong dependability. o Technically inclined person. o Building experience. o Have excellent time-management skills. o Attention to Detail. o Able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. o Able to stoop, bend, twist, stand and sit. o Be able to roll with the punches. o A passion for providing excellent work with a cooperative attitude. General construction accepted, set construction preferred. Training available. Creativity and some knowledge of theatrical productions and stage lighting is a plus This individual must be available to work in a temporary position, full-time with a flexible schedule during the week - Monday - Friday and occasional nights and weekends. You will have the opportunity to rejoin our team for other productions as our shows are intermittent.
