Sound Engineer The Now Church Davie, FL Job Details Contract 3 hours ago Qualifications Digital audio workstation (DAW) Music mixing Live event audio projects Technical troubleshooting support Pro Tools Production troubleshooting Full Job Description We are seeking a skilled Audio/Sound Engineer to oversee all audio aspects of our weekly services, events, and performances. The sound engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all audio systems are properly configured, maintained, and operated during church services and events.
Responsibilities:
Set up and operate audio systems for all church events, including weekly services, concerts, and special events. Work closely with musicians, singers, and other performers to ensure high-quality audio output during events. Monitor and adjust audio levels during events to ensure a balanced sound mix. Train and supervise volunteers who assist with audio tasks during services and events. Troubleshoot audio issues as they arise during events and services. Conduct regular maintenance and repair of audio equipment, including microphones, speakers, and mixing boards. Collaborate with other church staff members to plan and execute special events and projects that require audio support.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in sound engineering, with experience in a church or worship setting preferred. Expertise in configuring, operating, and troubleshooting audio systems, including digital mixing boards, amplifiers, and speakers. Familiarity with Midas 32 sound board, and a variety of audio software and plugins, such as Pro Tools and Waves. Ability to work collaboratively with a team and communicate effectively with non-technical staff and volunteers. A commitment to high-quality audio output and an understanding of the role of sound in enhancing the worship experience. Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and evenings as needed.
Tasks:
Pre-service 1. Set up stage for musicians. 2. Perform proper line check. 3. Perform proper sound check; includes gain settings, monitor mixes, proper volume settings, etc. During Service 1. Responsible for adjusting sound levels during service as needed. 2. Responsible for following stage and schedule cues. 3. Responsible for providing a distraction-free service as it relates to audio production. Post-service 1. Talk with the band to find out if issues existed for them during service. 2. Note any broken/faulty equipment and take it out of service if possible. 3. Clear stage of equipment as needed.
