As an acoustical ceiling mechanic, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of acoustical ceiling systems in commercial and residential buildings. Your attention to detail and technical skills will contribute to the success of our projects and ensure high-quality outcomes for our clients. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can read and interpret schematics, perform construction inspections, and ensure high-quality workmanship in all installations. Duties Install, maintain, and repair acoustical ceiling systems (e.g., suspended ceilings, grid, tiles, panels). Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure correct installation. Measure and cut ceiling tiles, grids, and other components to fit ceiling space. Install and secure ceiling grids, tiles, and panels using appropriate tools and techniques. Ensure all installations meet safety standards and local building codes. Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other team members to complete tasks efficiently. Perform regular maintenance checks and make adjustments as needed. Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times. Handle and store materials properly to prevent damage. Maintain a professional and positive attitude when interacting with clients and team members. Skills Proven experience as an acoustical ceiling mechanic or similar role in commercial and/or residential construction. Strong knowledge of acoustical ceiling systems, tools, and materials. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Proficiency with hand and power tools commonly used in ceiling installation. Familiarity with safety procedures and building codes. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Physical stamina and ability to work at heights, lift heavy materials, and work in various weather conditions (for outdoor installations). Good communication skills and reliability.
