Sound Engineer St Pete First United Methodist Church Saint Petersburg, FL Job Details Part-time $17 - $20 an hour 22 hours ago Qualifications Teamwork Music mixing Process improvement Equipment troubleshooting Live event audio projects Attention to detail Live production performance Technical troubleshooting support Time management Production troubleshooting Full Job Description Position Summary The Sound Engineer plays a vital role in creating a seamless and high-quality worship experience for both in-person and online audiences. This role is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting audio systems for live services, streamed worship, and special events.
Typical Schedule:
Tuesday 5:00 - 8:00 PM Sunday 7:00 AM - 12 PM (includes 7:15 AM coordination meeting) Additional hours as needed for weddings, funerals, and special events. Responsibilities Operate the mixing console during worship services, live events, and recordings to ensure optimal sound quality. Set up, test, and manage microphones, monitors, and audio inputs for all services and events. Perform sound checks and live mixing for either in-person and streaming audiences. Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize audio systems to ensure reliability and performance. Recommend equipment upgrades and assist with implementation in coordination with the Director of Worship Technology. Provide audio support for additional church events, including funerals, weddings, meetings, and concerts. Collaborate effectively with technical, ministerial, and administrative staff to execute worship plans and creative vision. Required Expertise Hands-on experience with digital mixing consoles (experience with Allen & Heath Avantis preferred) in live environment. Previous experience in live event production. Strong understanding of microphone techniques, audio signal flow, and live sound environments. Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues in high-pressure, live settings. Strong communication and teamwork skills. General Qualifications A Christian, committed to Christ and the church as the Body of Christ. $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
