Job description Company Overview Louisiana Academy of Performing Arts (LAAPA), established in 1978, is dedicated to providing high-quality education in music, dance, and the performing arts. We are seeking a part time audio technician/qlab programmer to join our growing technology crew in the theater department. Our theater department is expanding and we have a number of shows planned at various theaters in the Greater NOLA area over the next year both on the Westbank and in Covington. Our current opening is for a July in the afternoon/evening hours for "Newsies JR" to be held July 21-26 at Three Rivers Theater in Covington. Responsibilities Collaborate with directors to achieve desired audio/visual effects. Able to follow theater scripts and program cues in qLab accordingly. Support the team during rehearsals and live performances to adapt scene changes as needed. Mixing a high volume of wireless microphones with proper EQ. Knowledge of integrating TheaterMix with qLab is a plus. Knowledge of Mixing Station app is a plus. Qualifications Mixing live theater or equivalent production experience preferred. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
