Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic media production team as a Sound Technician (Compensated), where your expertise will elevate the quality of our video content through exceptional sound design and audio management. In this role, you will be responsible for capturing, editing, and enhancing audio for a variety of projects, ensuring a seamless integration with visual elements. Your passion for sound and technical proficiency will contribute to creating engaging, professional-grade videos that resonate with audiences worldwide. Responsibilities Mix sound during Sunday worship services, Wednesday Night Refresh, and special services/events as Oversee Audio Technician 2 and coordinate coverage/scheduling. Conduct technical rehearsals with the worship team and media ministry; refine cues and monitor levels. Set up microphones, DI boxes, monitors, stage snakes, wireless systems, and FOH consoles. Perform sound checks to identify and resolve equipment/audio issues before services. Perform post-production sound edits for video/audio recordings (noise reduction, EQ, compression, normalization). Ensure optimal sound quality on recorded footage. Maintain and troubleshoot sound equipment; coordinate repairs/vendor support when needed. Train volunteers in console operation, stage setup, and effective mixing techniques. Work closely with Worship Leader, Media Director, and Pastoral team to execute run sheets and cue. Minimum Qualifications 3+ years of professional live sound experience in houses of worship, theaters, or live events. Proficiency with digital consoles (e.g., Behringer X32, Allen & Heath, Yamaha), IEMs/monitors, and RF/ Working knowledge of signal flow, gain staging, EQ, compression, gates, effects, and scene management. Experience with DAWs (e.g., Audacity, Reaper, Logic, Pro Tools) for editing and post-production. Familiarity with livestream audio routing (USB/Dante/analog feeds) and loudness standards. Strong troubleshooting, attention to detail, and calm performance under pressure. Team leadership capability; able to mentor volunteers with patience and clarity.
