Our mission starts with weekend worship, and from there we continue to serve the body of Christ and our surrounding community throughout the week.
Position Reports To :
Associate Pastor and Director of Music and Worship Arts Hours :
Approx 5-10 hours per week (varies by service schedule and events) Position Summary The Sound Technician oversees audio production for worship services, rehearsals, and special events. This role ensures clear, balanced sound for both in-person and livestream audiences, supporting a worship environment that communicates the Word and music effectively. The Sound Technician serves as the primary audio lead during services and events. Key Responsibilities Set up, test, and operate all audio equipment for services, rehearsals, and events. Lead sound checks and mix live audio for vocalists, instruments, and spoken word. Monitor and manage livestream audio quality. Troubleshoot technical issues and perform basic maintenance of audio equipment. Coordinate audio needs for special events (weddings, funerals, concerts, etc.). Recruit, train, and support volunteer audio team members. Maintain organized settings, documentation, and communication with ministry staff. Arrange coverage when unavailable and communicate scheduling needs proactively. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience with live sound (church or performance setting preferred). Familiarity with digital mixers (Allen & Heath a plus) and basic audio principles (EQ, signal flow, monitors). Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to adapt in live settings. Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented. Alignment with the mission and values of the church. Ability to pass a background check. Physical Requirements Ability to lift 25-50 lbs and handle equipment setup/teardown. Ability to work in a sanctuary environment and follow safety guidelines. Preferred (Not Required) Experience with livestream software (OBS, ProPresenter, etc.). Background in video or lighting. Musical experience or familiarity with worship teams. Compensation & Schedule Hourly rate based on experience. Regular schedule includes weekend services and midweek rehearsals. Availability required for major holidays and special services.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
