Job Description

Toravia Studios is seeking a dedicated, reliable, and highly motivated In-House Assistant Engineer / Studio Intern to join our team. This position is an immersive, hands-on opportunity designed for an engineering candidate looking to sharpen their technical skills, learn professional studio operations, and work directly under our head engineers and studio management.
PLEASE NOTE
This is strictly an Audio Engineering and Studio Operations position. This is NOT a Music Producer role. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about the art of engineering, technical troubleshooting, and helping grow a premium studio brand.
Responsibilities Session Support:
Act as the first line of support for label rollouts, studio clients, and senior engineers during recording sessions.
Session Prep & Audio Editing:
Handle top-down template preparation, vocal tuning, audio editing, sample organization, and pre-session formatting for final mixing and mastering.
Technical Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve issues with Pro Tools, hardware signal flow, Apollo interfaces, and software plugin suites on the fly.
Studio Operations & Maintenance:
Maintain the cleanliness, acoustic vibe, and daily up-keep of the physical studio spaces on Lake Street.
Client & Administrative Management:
Answer studio inquiries, manage client projects, phone lines, and streamline bookings directly through our website booking platform.
Media & Creative Support:
Assist with sound design, video/content creation, and basic graphic design projects to support studio marketing and client deliverables.
Required Skills & Experience Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in Audio Engineering and studio environments (Required).
DAW Proficiency:
Deep, native proficiency in Pro Tools (Required, 2+ years) and Ableton Live .
Signal Flow Mastery:
A rock-solid understanding of analog-to-digital signal flow, hardware routing, and troubleshooting setups under pressure.
Workflow Familiarity:
Familiarity with modern plugin ecosystems (e.g., Waves, Slate Digital) and hybrid digital/analog workflows.
Operational Excellence:
Outstanding time management, communication, and organizational skills; ability to prioritize a fluid, fast-moving workload.
Location:
Must be reliably based in the Minneapolis area with dependable transportation for on-call/stand-by shifts.
